Cosmetics products are classified into two categories by the CFDA, non-special use cosmetics (non-SUC) and special use cosmetics (SUC).
Non-special use cosmetics (non-SUC) includes：
1. Skin care products
2. Hair care products
3. Nail care products
Foreign companies wishing to obtain a CFDA registration of non-special use cosmetics must first perform an ingredient screening to ensure that the ingredients and content levels are compliant with CFDA regulations. Secondly, the products must undergo various test performed at CFDA appointed laboratories. Finally, the filing application should be submitted to CFDA for final approval. It takes 3-6 months for non-special use cosmetics to obtain CFDA registration.
